Roskelly Inc. Makes its Mark with 14 Designs Featured in New Digital Publication by Graphic Design Book Pioneer David E. Carter

Portsmouth, R.I. October 5, 2010 – Roskelly Inc.’s logos distinguished themselves from over 1500 competitors when they were selected as winners in a brand new design competition launched in 2010 by David E. Carter, a well-regarded branding expert considered by many in the graphic design field to be the “pioneer” of trademark and logo books. Of the 321 sub- missions chosen, 14 are Roskelly creations. In his awards notification letter, Carter told Ro- skelly that they “had some of the very best work in the competition.”

For Karen N. Roskelly, President of Roskelly Inc., these awards represent a brand marketing presence, both geographically and in terms of the diversity of industries it represents. Logos selected for TrademarksUSA include:

  • Advancing Novel Partnerships – Washington, DC
  • Tori Andreozzi Foundation – Providence, Rhode Island
  • Antique River Logs – Kentucky
  • AquaFyi – Rhode Island
  • Boss Man Burgers – Portsmouth, Rhode Island
  • DBEBZ Apparel – Fairfield, Connecticut
  • Edge Angling – Middletown, Rhode Island
  • Eric the Barber – Portsmouth, Rhode Island
  • Fish Market, Koper – Solvenia
  • GECKO – Providence, Rhode Island
  • The Newport Charter Academy – Newport, Rhode Island
  • Red Jacket Resorts – Cape Cod , MA and North Conway, NH
  • Jim Rusher Spey Schools – Roitherville, Quebec, Canada
  • True Nicks – Lexington, Kentucky

“When you’re not only asked to design for companies from such diverse backgrounds, but then to receive awards for those designs in a national publication produced by an industry giant like David E. Carter, that is a tremendous indicator that you’re doing something right,” says Thomas Roskelly, Creative Director for Roskelly Inc.. “I credit this success to my ap- proach of working as closely with my clients as possible to assess their personal needs and to create a logo that’s not only going to best represent their company’s image in the market- place, but also a design that they will be truly satisfied with. They can be fisheries, restau- rants, nonprofits, or barbers, but the process I use is still going to be the same.”

David Carter has produced over 100 well-received graphic design industry books, but TrademarksUSA represents a new chapter for him as his first book to be produced exclu- sively in digital format. This decision follows Carter’s forward-looking observations about the publishing industry’s ongoing evolution from a print-based to more digital-based format, and wanting to stay ahead of the game.
